Ways Veneers Can Transform Your Smile

Veneers are thin—yet durable—shells of porcelain that we adhere to the front sides of teeth. They are a permanent cosmetic procedure that can give patients a lifetime of picture-perfect smiles by:

  • Changing the overall look of teeth
  • Closing small gaps
  • Covering chips, cracks & imperfections
  • Lengthening teeth
  • Whitening teeth that are too discolored for teeth whitening treatments

Veneers FAQs

What is the veneers process?

Before placing veneers, our team has to remove a significant portion of enamel to make room for the veneer to sit flush on top of the front side of the teeth. Once the teeth are prepared, we’ll take impressions of them and send them to an off-site lab where they’ll handcraft your custom veneers. In the meantime, we’ll place temporary veneers on your teeth until your next appointment. When we get your veneers, you’ll come back into the office and we’ll bond them to your teeth and check the fit. In as little as two to three appointments, you’ll be flashing a new and improved smile!

Veneers vs. crowns. What’s the difference?

Veneers are made to cover just the front side of teeth whereas dental crowns completely cover an existing tooth. Veneers are for cosmetic purposes and crowns (while they can also be used for cosmetic reasons) are mostly utilized for restorative needs. Such as when a tooth is damaged or weakened by external factors like decay or dental trauma.

Are dental veneers permanent?

The procedure itself is permanent because it requires enamel removal. However, over time, veneers are subjected to normal wear and tear just like natural teeth. Because of this, veneers often need to be replaced every 15 to 20 years so that they stay looking and feeling their best. By maintaining a great oral hygiene regimen and properly taking care of your veneers, they may last longer before needing to be replaced!
